Basketball Final 4  – EuroLeague Final Four, Abu Dhabi

When the EuroLeague Final Four tipped off in Abu Dhabi for the first time, Camera Corps was entrusted with delivering a robust and flexible camera package to capture every angle of the action. With a long-standing relationship with IMG and deep experience in basketball coverage, Camera Corps brought a tailored solution to the Etihad Arena, one that balanced creative vision, technical precision, and operational safety.

A 360° View of the Game

At the heart of the setup was a central overhead robotic camera mounted beneath the Jumbotron, offering continuous 360° rotation. This provided sweeping views of the court, crowd, and opening ceremony, an essential storytelling tool for the director.

Seamless Remote Control

All camera systems were connected via SMPTE fiber to three central control surfaces, allowing remote operation and real-time adjustments. A fixed overhead POV camera provided a full-arena view, supporting both live broadcast and replay workflows.

Adaptability in a New Venue

Every basketball venue presents unique challenges—from differing stanchion designs to variable lighting and rigging points. Camera Corps’ ability to adapt quickly, combined with thorough preplanning and collaboration with IMG, ensured a smooth production in this new environment.

3×3 Basketball

Setup: Camera track setup, Backboard net cam behind the hoop, Antelope SSM500 slow-motion (high speed)

 Camera Corps has a rich history in providing camera for basketball events, with the 3×3 event being no exception.  The 3×3 Basketball event at the Neom Games required precise and dynamic camera setups to capture the fast-paced action. Camera Corps utilized a track setup for smooth movement, backboard net cams for close-up shots, and the Antelope SSM500 for high-speed slow-motion footage, ensuring every slam dunk and critical play was captured in stunning close-up detail.

Open Water Swimming

Setup: Sony P50– 30m crane with 14x zoom lens (static shots)

For the Open Water Swimming event, Camera Corps utilized a Sony P50 camera mounted on a cherry picker with a 14x zoom lens. This setup allowed for static shots that captured the swimmers’ progress and the scenic backdrop, ensuring clear and detailed footage of the competition.

The Climbing Wall event required versatile and strategically placed cameras to capture the climbers’ movements and techniques. SMPTE cables ensured seamless connectivity and control, but it was important that the cameras are rugged for large temperature ranges. Despite the cold, high-altitude conditions of the climbing wall event, the same camera systems were seamlessly redeployed the next day for beachside coverage where temperatures soared. This flexibility highlighted the Qx cameras’ exceptional durability and performance across extreme environments, making them perfectly suited for multi-event use in rapidly changing climates.

UFC (Abu Dhabi) – Etihad Stadium

Cage Fighting / Mixed Martial Arts in the Octagon

For a high-octane UFC event in Abu Dhabi, Camera Corps delivered a compact yet powerful camera solution tailored to the unique demands of mixed martial arts. The setup featured Q-Ball cameras, Coach Cams, a commentary cam, a translation cam, and PTZ units with Picture-in-Picture (PiP) capabilities, each selected to capture the intensity and nuance of the Octagon from every angle.

The Qx camera systems proved especially valuable: their compact, robust, and unobtrusive design made them ideal for close-quarters combat coverage, while also meeting strict safety and visibility requirements.

Camera Corps’ “minimal rigging” approach, using SMPTE fiber to deliver multiple feeds through minimal cabling, ensures a clean, efficient setup with maximum flexibility.

With a long-standing relationship with the production team, Camera Corps provided both owned and rental equipment to meet the specific scale of the event. The result was a seamless, multi-angle broadcast that matched the energy and precision of the fighters themselves.

WWE King and Queen Tournament in Jeddah’s Superdome

At the high-energy WWE King and Queen of the Ring event in Jeddah’s iconic Superdome, Camera Corps supplied a versatile selection of Qx cameras designed to capture the full spectrum of fan and in-ring emotion. Positioned throughout the arena, these cameras delivered dynamic crowd reactions, sweeping wide shots, and intimate close-ups that helped bring the electric atmosphere into the broadcast.

Working in close partnership with the production company—an established client with a history of purchasing core camera systems from Camera Corps, the team supplemented their kit with additional rentals tailored specifically for the scale and complexity of this event.
